Privacy policy

BOXBOXF1.io (https://boxboxf1.io) is an independent motorsport analysis publication operated from Canada. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we handle it.

What we collect

• Email address, when you subscribe to our newsletter. We store the address you provide, an optional source field indicating where you signed up, and the timestamps of subscription and unsubscription.
• Server logs, including IP address, user agent, and request URLs, retained for security and operational diagnostics. Logs are rotated and not used for advertising profiling.
• Cookies: we do not use tracking cookies. We may use a session cookie for the (currently unreleased) admin area, which is local to the device and not shared with third parties.

What we do with it

• Email addresses are used to send the BOXBOXF1 race intelligence newsletter and related transactional emails (welcome, unsubscribe confirmation).
• Server logs are used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse.
• We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with advertisers.

Third parties we use

• Cloudflare for DNS, CDN, and email routing.
• Resend for transactional email and newsletter delivery.
• Hetzner for hosting (servers physically located in Germany).

Each of these vendors processes personal data only as necessary to provide their service. We hold appropriate data-processing agreements where required by applicable law.

Your rights

You may at any time unsubscribe from the newsletter using the link in the footer of any email we send. You may also request a copy of personal data we hold about you, or request that we delete it, by emailing hello@boxboxf1.io. We will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

• Subscriber records are retained until you unsubscribe, plus a short window for delivery suppression.
• Server logs are retained for up to 90 days.
• Admin audit logs are retained for 12 months.

Children

BOXBOXF1 is intended for general audiences interested in Formula 1 strategy. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have, email us and we will delete the record.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be noted on this page with an updated revision date. The current version is the one displayed at the date noted above.
